Doctor Adam and Doctor Sandy Elbaum met in Chiropractic College. Actually, it was during orientation when Dr. Adam chased Dr. Sandy into the parking lot and the love story of each other and Chiropractic began.
Dr. Adam is originally from Miami, Florida. He started chiropractic care as a teenager just because his brother said so. While in his undergrad, he had a health challenge. He broke out in a terrible rash that kept coming back. He tried various medical interventions with no permanent solution until he went to his Chiropractor. After only one adjustment the rash never returned and his decision to become a Chiropractor was locked in.
Dr. Sandy is originally from New York and grew up in North Carolina. Eventually, her life brought her to the Atlanta, GA region. She was also doing her undergraduate work and working part time, when she met a group of Chiropractic students. They asked her a simple question, “Have you ever thought about becoming a Chiropractor?” Dr. Sandy visited the campus and fell in love with the Chiropractic philosophy immediately.
Dr. Adam and Dr. Sandy attended virtually every class together while in Chiropractic College. In early 1989, they married each other on campus and later had their first child together. Once they completed their education, they came to Chester, VA, in the hopes of buying an established Chiropractic office. Thankfully that deal fell through, and they opened Chester Family Chiropractic Center in August of 1991.
The original office was across the parking lot in a small 800 square foot space. Dr. Abbi was born that year and Dr. Andrew was born 2 years later. As the family grew, so did the practice and they built the “new” office in 1998. Dr. Abbi officially joined the practice in 2018, and Dr. Andrew joined us in 2020.
The doctors are thrilled to have served the Chester community ever since. The practice continues to thrive and added additional hands in the form of Drs, Phillip, Colton and Ashley. We look forward to continue a legacy of Lasting Purpose. To live an inner-directed life, above down and inside out. To Give, to Do, to Love to serve out of a sense of abundance with no expectation of return.

Emily Squires, LMT
I practice a gentle and highly effective form of bodywork called John Barnes Myofascial Release (MFR for short.) MFR therapy is safe, gentle hands-on therapy that gives lasting results. Gentle pressure is applied to the fascia/connective tissue in a precise and slow manner to induce relaxation.
As a Licensed Massage Therapist and former educator, I will teach you about your body and prompt your inner physician, or in other words your brain or consciousness, to reconnect with areas it has been removed from due to trauma, injury, or surgery. My approach is both skillful and intuitive, and I am passionate about helping my clients find freedom from pain and restriction within their bodies, and a deeper connection with themselves– resulting in greater joy and vitality in their daily lives. It is a great privilege to care for all of my clients. I would love to see you soon!
